and our country is one of the points of the world, which the Countess has visited often in the last 23 years. Both then and now the person who invites her here is Jacob Jerassi – the chairman of the International Foundation “Bulgaria”.

“We met him in Las Vegas 23 years ago and he invited me to come to Bulgaria. On my first visit, I donated computers to the university, and then I started traveling to your country every year. I was able to send trucks with donations to hospitals. Of course, first and foremost are my efforts for the children, who have always been a part of my heart. My job was to support them and to be able to provide them with medical equipment, beds, clothes, operating rooms, ”explains the countess.

Esther de Pomeri was born into a poor family in a village in Switzerland and she says she knows what it’s like not to have great financial means, so she can easily put herself in the shoes of people living in poverty.

She started working at a very young age as a singer, as well as as a music manager. He graduated in obstetrics at the University of Bern and archeology at the University of Paris. My sister is in Kenya, she is my ambassador there. I help all those whose voice cannot be heard. My heart is open to people who no longer have the strength to pray, to want, ”says de Pomeri.

Because of his charity work, he meets with world political leaders. During his last visit to Bulgaria, on March 19, he managed to talk to Bulgarian President Rumen Radev and his wife Desislava. “We discussed the community center, the Roma community, as well as what it needs most – education. I have seen children in some of the schools in the ghettos. These institutions are really great. The children in them are happy, singing, dancing. They are musical, awake, satisfied. You should be proud that you have such schools for the Roma community “, the countess is categorical.

During the time she has been helping our country, she has sent 141 trucks with medical equipment, including special hospital beds, operating tables, bed linen, and tons of toys for the little ones. Some time ago he was among the guests at the opening of a theater named after Prof. Carl Jerassi – the world-famous scientist with Bulgarian blood, who is the creator of the anti-baby pill. He and the Countess know each other well. Carl is the uncle of Jacob Jerassi – the man for whom the Countess came to our country for the first time. And it remains forever captivated by our country.

That is why he strives to travel to Bulgaria whenever he can. “I adore your country and the people here, I feel wonderful. The reason I always come back to you is that we must not forget how your country saved many Jews during World War II. The king refuses to load the trains for the Jewish concentration camps in Bulgaria during the Holocaust. And as it is written in the Bible that whoever supports the Jewish people will be blessed, I believe that your country is blessed, ”says de Pomeri. Due to the pandemic, however, it remained in our country for only three days.

Esther de Pomeri is a goodwill ambassador for the Swiss Red Cross, a UNESCO adviser, and works with a large Israeli donation organization. She is a holder of the Madara Horseman Order for her long-term humanitarian activity in Bulgaria. The high state award was presented to her years ago by President Georgi Parvanov.
