Speculation has been confirmed! European customers will really see the Ford Mustang Mach 1, which premiered during Goodwood Speed Week 2020.

One Ford official recently said that the new Ford Mustang Mach 1 should become a global model. We have all begun to hope that, despite increasingly stringent emission restrictions, this well-trodden version of the world’s best-selling sports cars will also appear on the European market. And our wish was granted.
The European version of the Ford Mustang Mach 1 was unveiled during the ongoing Goodwood Speed Week, an event replacing the traditional Goodwood Speed Festival – canceled this year due to a pandemic. It should be a Mustang with the best handling that Ford has ever offered to European customers.

The Mach 1 is also the first production Mustang on the European market to be available with a six-speed Tremec manual transmission. But if you don’t want a third pedal, you can choose a modified ten-speed automatic transmission with an improved oil cooler and modified shift logic for better performance.
Under the hood is a 5.0-liter V8 naturally aspirated engine, which is tuned for the European market for a maximum output of 338 kW (460 hp) and 529 Nm of torque. Compared to the versions for the American and Australian markets, European customers are deprived of almost 27 horsepower and 40 Nm of torque.

However, we remember something similar from the time of the Ford Mustang Bullit, which was also offered on the European market with lower performance. Probable culprits are probably stricter emission standards in the EU. Even so, it is the fastest Mustang that Ford will offer in Europe.
The carmaker does not yet mention data on acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h or maximum speed, which can probably again be attributed to limited power. But the new Mustang Mach 1 should be mainly about maneuverability, which is enhanced by the experience and technical details borrowed from the GT350 and GT500 models.

For example, the Mach 1 received improved aerodynamics and there are also unique 19 “discs fitted to Michellin Pilot Sport 4 tires. The standard equipment also includes a rear self-locking differential, an exhaust with active flaps and uniquely numbered badges. Mach 1 is a limited edition.

The offer of varnishes should also be unique, which should refer to the iconic Mach 1 models from the 60’s and 70’s. For example, the yellow Grabber combines with black and white stripes that resembles the Mustang Mach 1 from the original 60 Seconds movie. Among other varnishes, however, there is also a special shade of gray, silver, black, blue or red. Minor aesthetic modifications can also be found in the interior.
We will probably find out the exact technical data and prices only when we start receiving orders, which we might not have to wait too long for.
