Another biker suffered serious injuries when he was hit by a truck in Třinec in the Frýdek-Místek region. This was stated by police spokeswoman Zlatuše Viačková.
In Opava, the accident happened on Friday after 22:00 on the Kateřinky bypass. “In all probability, a man on a Yamaha motorcycle was driving on the road at high speed, apparently underestimating the wet road and his abilities,” said Viačková.
Before a slightly left turn, the biker on a straight section of the road drove to the right into a road ditch. He was thrown out of the machine seat and hit a traffic sign. He died on the spot.
The accident in Třinec happened on Friday afternoon at the traffic light of Lidická street. “The 58-year-old driver of an Iveco truck apparently did not prefer a biker coming to the crossroads from the opposite direction in the direction from Oldřichovice when turning left,” Viačková said. The 44-year-old biker was transported to the Ostrava University Hospital with serious injuries.
On Friday after 9:30 pm, rescuers and police officers in the Moravian-Silesian Region intervened in another serious accident. “A Belgian citizen was driving at high speed in a BMW vehicle. Near the U Lípy bus stop in Horní Bludovice in the Karviná region, he probably did not manage to drive and crashed into a vehicle in front of him,” Viačková said.
