If at the beginning of the war about 15 thousand people entered Ukraine every day, now it is 25-30 thousand.

In recent days, the number of Ukrainians who are returning home from abroad has been growing. This was announced on Monday, April 11, by the speaker of the State Border Service Andriy Demchenko.

“In general, since February 24, more than 4.3 million people have crossed the border in both directions, but the vast majority are citizens who, fleeing the war, crossed the border in the direction of leaving Ukraine. Recently, we have also recorded an increase in citizens of Ukraine, who are returning home. In the first days, in general, about 15 thousand citizens of Ukraine crossed the border, moving towards the entrance to Ukraine. At the moment, this number is about 25-30 thousand people per day,” Demchenko said.

He noted that passenger traffic had dropped significantly compared to the first weeks of the war.

“Earlier, the passenger traffic per day could reach about 120-130 thousand people per day, and the vast majority of people moved in the direction of leaving Ukraine. Now the passenger traffic fluctuates at the level of 60-70 thousand people per day,” Demchenko said.

Most border crossings take place in the section with Poland.

At the same time, the number of those leaving is still higher, in particular, over the past weekend it amounted to 81 thousand and increased compared to the previous weekend (70 thousand people).

Since the beginning of the war About 4.5 million people left Ukraine. More than seven million Ukrainians have moved to another part of the country.
