Shooting at a warehouse in the Bronx leaves four injured

A shot at a warehouse door in the Bronx is proof, according to neighbors, that their neighborhood suffers from drugs and gangs.

“The kids here stop by eight in the morning to smoke marijuana, and that’s related to business, unfortunately,” said Sadiel Lebrón.

The facade of the “Bronx Deli Grocery” grocery store, located at 921 East 180th Street and Daly Avenue in West Farm, was the scene of a shooting yesterday at six in the afternoon that left four injured.

Opposite the cellar is a nursery for children aged 3 to 5 and on the left side a playground.

When the shooting occurred, one woman said, there were mothers with children passing by.

“Very dangerous. There must be a lot of police here in this area because there is a school here and another one on the corner further on. And there are very young children,” said Any Ureña.

Two men, according to the authorities, shot at a group of people, wounding a 17-year-old teenager in the buttocks and leg.

To another 14 year old on both legs. And one of the 15 was shot in the leg. One of the bullets also grazed the face of a 62-year-old man.

Lebrón lives next door to the warehouse in a building and says the front of the venue is used for buying and selling drugs.

“At Phipps Houses, please pay attention. This put real security. You put real security,” added Lebrón.

One of the two suspects was dressed in black and ran away after shooting, the report indicates.

Authorities also point out that some of the victims were allegedly targeted by bullets, but others were innocent.

“It’s scary. We left out of necessity. Because I would like to stay at home with my daughter but she has to go to school,” said Nesi Blanco.

On the sidewalk, investigators marked at least 10 shell casings. Investigators say the reason is still unknown and fortunately there are no victims to regret.

“With the 14, 15 and 17-year-olds, please, it’s okay now, as a parent I say, it’s okay now,” Lebrón said.

No arrests at this time, so police are enlisting the help of the public with information by confidentially calling 888-57-PISTA.
