Roland Garros winner Krawietz is a filler during the corona crisis | NOW

German professional tennis player Kevin Krawietz, who won the doubles at Roland Garros last year, works as a filler in a local supermarket now that the ATP Tour has come to a halt due to the corona crisis.

“I wanted to try a ‘normal’ job for some time,” said 28-year-old Krawietz to Der Spiegel. “I now have the opportunity to do so because of the corona crisis.” (Photo: Pro Shots)

Krawietz has been working in a supermarket in suburban Munich for several weeks. In addition, he trains three to four times a week on the tennis court. (Photo: Pro Shots)

The current number thirteen of the world ranking in the doubles gets 12.50 euros per hour. In his tennis career he has collected just under 1 million euros in prize money. (Photo: Pro Shots)

“It’s not about the money,” Krawietz says Daily Mail. “I got bored during the lockdown and a friend of mine works in the supermarket. He first joked that they were looking for people and not much later he said they really had a job for me.” (Photo: Pro Shots)

“There have been quite a few customers who said, ‘You look like that tennis player’. That is funny,” said Krawietz. (Photo: Pro Shots)
