It has been exactly one year since the overwhelming news spread around the Czech Republic. Hana Zagorová (†75) died in the Prague Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion after prolonged health problems. The widower Štefan Margita (67) has not yet come to terms with her loss.
Zagorová succumbed to complications associated with a hematopoiesis disorder, which she had suffered from since she was young. The consequences of severe covid, with which she fought in 2020, also made it difficult for her.
Margita already presented a commemorative banknote with the singer’s face on Thursday. It is available from Saturday. He does not want to discuss the anniversary of the loss of his beloved wife too much. “On Saturday it will be a year since Hanka died in the hospital. I was next to her. I really want to ask you not to talk about it. It’s not a simple thing. I avoid all conversations. Simply put, it’s hard for me to” he declared.
Zagorová was one of the most popular Czech singers, and in terms of sales, she was even at the very top. Hits such as Paint again images, My time or It is absolutely necessary are still humming by almost everyone.
The opera singer married Zagorová 30 years ago. He still hasn’t recovered from her departure. When this happened, he stopped communicating with those around him. He did not pick up the phone even to his friends, did not respond to messages and condolences.
On a sad day, he finally spoke out via social media. “Hani, my only love. Thank you for thirty beautiful years in love! However, I will never forget today’s 11th hour. Fear, complete hopelessness, that I have lost you forever and that you are not and will not be. Returning to an empty apartment tears me up. I look at your things and every step reminds me of you here. I love you and always will! Your Štefan,” he wrote a year ago.
