Rafael Nadal Declares Novak Djokovic Best Tennis Player in History: “The Numbers Say Yes”

“I wouldn’t consider him a friend, but someone familiar, with whom I have a great relationship,” described the world tennis legend from Spain, during the event yesterday.Madrid

Rafael Nadal assumed that Serbian Novak Djokovic is the best player in the history of tennis, ahead of him and the Swiss Roger Federer because the numbers say so. “I would say it is the best in history. He has had a better body than mine and that also counts.”

“The numbers say yes, he is the best and for me, he is,” the winner of twenty-two Grand Slams stated bluntly, in an interview with El Objective, from La Sexta.

The Spanish tennis player who has postponed his return to the courts, initially scheduled for the Doha tournament and now postponed to the exhibition set in Las Vegas with Carlos Alcaraz and the Indian Wells Masters 1000, in March, praised the Balkan tennis player, current number one of the world.

“I think the image Djokovic projects is worse than it really is. He is a good person, with his mistakes, because with his actions he accentuates them. But I think he is good,” said Nadal, who however regretted some situations and behaviors of the Serbian.

“The frustration lasts until he breaks the racket. Afterwards he is ready to play at one hundred percent again. And it’s the best I’ve ever seen. “I have been injured and he has not and I have missed the Grand Slam, but he has had a better body and that also counts,” he insisted.

“When I see someone with so much success, getting so angry, I don’t like it,” said the winner of twenty-two Grand Slams who praised the rivalry with the Swiss Roger Federer, whom he does not consider a friend but a great partner with whom he still has a great relationship.

“We have shared most of our career. We have helped each other. We have also taken away a lot. We have achieved a level of self-demand that is difficult to repeat because we knew that we could not fail. That competition took us to the limit,” Nadal said.
