It is Sunday again and thus time after a chaotic week in politics to look at the interesting topics around Nintendo. But as always, let’s first look at the week’s past poll before we start the current poll.

Last week’s poll

After the rumor mill had been boiling over the past few weeks when it came to a possible technical upgrade of the Nintendo Switch, we wanted to discuss the alleged Nintendo Switch Pro with you. In a further survey a few months ago, we asked you which technical details should change with a Nintendo Switch Pro. But last week we wanted to know if you thought Nintendo needed an upgrade to be able to compete with Microsoft’s Xbox Series X and Sony’s PlayStation 5.

Every second person is certain: Nintendo does not need a more powerful Nintendo Switch console, because the Nintendo Switch can prove itself against the competition with its unique hybrid functions. One in four of you think that a slight technical upgrade is necessary, as long as it doesn’t get exclusive games. One in five of you want to have a decent performance boost to take on the next generation of consoles. If you want to read through the many comments, visit the past poll of the week,

Does the Nintendo Switch need a technical upgrade to stay competitive?

  1. No, Nintendo doesn’t need to bring out a more powerful Nintendo Switch console. (233) – 51%
  2. Yes, but just a little upgrade to avoid exclusive games for a more powerful model. (121) – 26%
  3. Yes, a big upgrade to take on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. (86) – 19%

Poll of the week

The third year of the Nintendo Switch is about to begin and many players recognize a pattern when it comes to Nintendo’s release policy. Most of the time, one of the most important Nintendo software titles appears in the first half of the year and the focus with the most highlights is concentrated on the period between October and December of a year. In the meantime, many smaller software titles and portings from previous consoles appeared. The tactic seems to continue this year, because apart from Animal Crossing: New Horizons, no new blockbuster title has been announced by Nintendo for the first half of the year. In the following spoiler box you can take a look at the most important new releases of the past three years.

Some of the players are relatively unsatisfied with it and get bored with the Nintendo Switch portfolio in the first half of the year. The arrangement of the release dates is certainly tactical. This is how the Nintendo Switch console sells best during Christmas and video games also sell very well during Christmas. As a result, Nintendo is following a trend similar to that of all competition in the video game industry.

We would like to ask you what you think about this release policy. Are you bored that less of Nintendo may come at the beginning of the year or are you actually relatively satisfied with it? Because this way you can spare your wallet in the first half of the year and play through older games later. Vote, how you feel about Nintendo’s distribution of the release dates and let us know your opinion in the comments!
