For Christoffer Lian (29), it started in middle school. Together with some friends, they often went to the store to buy lunch. Occasionally he put some coins on the slot machine that stood there.

– The worst was when I discovered that these machines were also on the internet.

Soon the abstinences and cravings were there all the time. He juggled bills, consumer loans and credit cards. Moved money here and there. Always had a plan for how he would play again.

It became a sanctuary, a weed in everyday life where he did not have to think about anything.

– The game was my strategy to avoid emotions. At the same time, I worked well at work. No one saw or knew I had a problem.
