Photographer Dmitry Markov died at the age of 41, reports “Medusa”.
The cause of death has not been reported. Edition “Pskov province” writes that in recent days Markov has “experienced pressure from readers on social networks” because of his position towards his friends who were called up to fight in the war in Ukraine.
Dmitry Markov – photographer, photojournalist and volunteer. He was born in 1982 in Pushkino, near Moscow. First of all, Markov is known for his photographs of the Russian provinces.
In February 2021, the photographer came to court, where Alexei Navalny’s suspended sentence in the Yves Rocher case was replaced with a real one. As a result, Markov was detained and taken to the police department. There Markov took a photograph of a masked riot policeman sitting under a portrait of Vladimir Putin. The photo has become a symbol of Navalny’s persecution.
