Official gaming tests of the Ryzen 7950X3D processor have leaked

Processors will hit the market soon AMD Ryzen 7000X3Dwhich are thanks to technology 3D V-Cache aimed primarily at players. The line-up consists of three pieces and is led by an ambitious Ryzen 7950X3D. Leaked official tests where the server was accessed HD Technologyhowever, show that over rival Intel’s flag in games winning by an average of just 6%.

First of all, it is necessary to clarify a few important things. The price tag of the Ryzen 7950X3D processor will be $699 in the United States, while Intel Core i9-13900K can be purchased starting at $530. On the other hand, AMD is most likely to win the battle in terms of performance: consumption. While the TDP of its flagship 3D V-Cache processor is 120 watts, the bit from Intel can gobble up to 253 watts under higher load.

Individual titles were tested in FullHD resolution on a build with 32 GB of RAM, Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090/AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX graphics cardSamsung 980 Pro 1TB SSD storage and the Windows 11 operating system. Practically only the motherboards differed – a reference board from AMD was used for the processor test, while the CPU from Intel ran on the top-of-the-line ASUS ROG STRIX Z790-E GAMING Wi-Fi board.

But now to the test results themselves. As can be read from the tables shown below, the processors were more or less exchanging bullets. The highest performance difference was recorded in the game Horizon Zero Dawn, where a computer with a Ryzen 7950X3D processor got up to 27% higher average frames per second.

Intel’s victory varies by graphics card – while the RTX 4090’s biggest edge over AMD was seen in CS:GO and Strange Brigade, it fared best in Far Cry 6 and Ashes of Singularity with AMD graphics.

The results shown in the tables can be summarized quite easily. The AMD Ryzen 7950X3D scored an average of 6% more frames per second than the Intel Core i9-13900K with Nvidia graphics and 5.6% more with the AMD card. Compared to the classic version without 3D V-Cache, it is 16% better on average.

What do you think? Will buying a Ryzen 7950X3D CPU make sense at $699 in the US?
