JawaPos.com – Through a virtual event on Wednesday (16/9) in the morning WIB, Apple officially introduced its newest gadget. Not the newest iPhone device that Apple has revealed this time like the previous years, but the latest smartwatch or smart watch device, namely the Apple Watch Series 6 and Apple Watch SE.
Apple Watch Series 6, which was recently released by Apple, also introduced the revolutionary Blood Oxygen feature. This feature is claimed to offer users more insight into their overall health.
The Apple Watch Series 6 also features many notable hardware enhancements, including the faster S6 System in Package (SiP) and the next generation always on altimeter, along with its most colorful lineup, featuring a beautiful palette of new covers and bands. Apple at the launch of the new Apple Watch Series 6 at the same time released an operating system (OS) specifically for the new WatchOS 7 smartwatch.
In the new operating system, Apple presents several new features. Among the new WatchOS7 features include Family Settings, sleep tracking, automatic handwashing detection, new exercise types, and the ability to curate and share watch faces, encouraging customers to be more active, stay connected, and better manage their health in new ways. .
“The Apple Watch Series 6 completely changes what a watch can do,” said Jeff Williams, Apple’s chief operating officer at the virtual launch of Apple’s new product line. “With advanced new features, including a Blood Oxygen sensor and app, the Apple Watch has become even more irreplaceable by providing further insights into overall health,” added Williams.
Regarding specifications, the new Apple Watch Series 6 is equipped with an S6 processor. This processor is adapted from the A13 Bionic chip that is predicted to have been adapted for the Apple Watch. This chip is claimed to be able to increase battery life up to 18 hours and speed up charging time, which only takes 1.5 hours.
Just like its predecessor, this smart watch also has an always-on display feature. But as a newer device, the always-on display feature on Apple Watch 6 is now enhanced and is claimed to be 2.5 times brighter than its predecessor.
Not only Apple Watch Series 6, Apple also introduced an affordable version of the smart watch, the Apple Watch SE. As the name implies, this smart watch is priced cheaper like the other “SE” on iPhone devices.
The Apple Watch SE has a similar appearance to the Apple Watch Series 6. However, the specifications are much lower and comes with the same specifications as the Apple Watch 5. Even though the price is cheaper, the features that the Apple Watch SE brings are no less than the Apple Watch Series 6.
There are also a number of new features present in the Apple Watch Series 6 SE such as the accelerometer, gyroscope, altimeter, sleep tracker, fall detection, and hand wash detection. Similar to the Apple Watch Series 6, the Apple Watch SE runs the watchOS 7 operating system. The features present in the Apple SE include sleep tracking, handwashing detection, and fall detection.
For pricing matters, the Apple Watch SE will later be priced at USD 279 or around Rp.4.1 million and the cellular variant at USD 329 or around Rp.4.8 million. The new Apple Watch SE pre-order session will take place on September 18.
Meanwhile, the Apple Watch Series 6 device is available in several material choices, namely aluminum, stainless steel, to black titanium. Apple Watch Series 6 40 mm starts at USD 399 or the equivalent of Rp. 5.9 million.
