NieR Replicant remaster is a reality – News

let’s remember that NieR Replicant corresponds to the PlayStation 3 version of this action-RPG which in Japan took the name of NieR Gestalt on Xbox 360, the difference coming from the fact that the protagonist was a young ephebe flying to the rescue of his little sister in one and a robust mature father watching over his daughter in the other (vision which had been judged culturally more suitable for the international release of the game).

Note that the Square Enix press release does not allow us to decide between “remake” or “remaster” and prefers to speak of “reconstruction” or “higher version” of NieR Replicant. We do know that the dubbing has been completely re-recorded and that Keiichi Okabe is of course taking care of the arrangements for the soundtrack, which will be enriched with a few new compositions. The priceless tandem director / producer formed by Yoko Taro and Yosuke Saito is also at the bedside of the project, as expected.

Very imperfect to play but also very different from the rest of the production when it was released, Deny had marked his era with the audacity of his narration, his unusual characters to say the least, his end of the world atmosphere and of course his incredible music. Remember that if NieR Automata had used this reputation and the panache of PlatinumGames to reach the improbable figure of 4.5 million copies distributed worldwide, Deny is far from having approached the least status of commercial success in its time, hence the fact that Square Enix logically gives it a chance today.

Since we had to find a replacement at the Cavia studio, who disappeared shortly after the release of Deny in 2010, the Japanese studio Toylogic was responsible for development. If he has his own franchise (Happy wars, Happy Dungeons), Toylogic especially has the confidence of Square Enix for its participation on games like Dragon quest x (Wii) and Dragon quest xi (3DS) but also The Evil Within (PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360). We also know that Takahisa Taura from PlatinumGames gives a helping hand on development (perhaps to harmonize the combat system with that of NieR Automata ?). No launch window has yet been communicated for this title, which will be released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Steam.
