New York: US citizens want to rename street in front of Trump Tower to Obama Avenue

Decades before he was elected 45th US President, Trump, at that time still a real estate tycoon, had the skyscraper built in New York.

Now the building could be given a new address: If an initiative by US citizens has its way, it would in future be located on Obama Avenue. More than 200,000 people have already signed a petition to name the section of street after Trump’s predecessor Barack Obama, US media reported ABC.

Specifically, it concerns the section of Fifth Avenue between 56th and 57th Streets. The new address of Trump Tower would then be: “725 President Barack H. Obama Avenue, New York, NY 10022”.
