Jurist thinks the allegations are absurd

A Queens lawyer working on youth defense cases described the authorities’ actions as “absurd”. He assumes that it is impossible that the child could have raped another person.

“I find it absurd to charge a seven-year-old with rape. You would have to prove that he actually committed this act physically, which seems almost impossible to me,” said lawyer Anthony Martone “WWNY”. Under current New York State law, children seven years and older can be arrested and prosecuted as juvenile offenders.

There is also said to have been an incident in 2015. A ten-year-old boy from the Bronx was reportedly arrested by the NYPD. His two-year-old sister was apparently burned when he placed her on a radiator. The boy was handcuffed and taken to a police station, where police alone interrogated him, it is said.
