‘Measures only relaxed when people over 60 have been vaccinated!’ – The Daily Standard

When the enormously strict lockdown was announced in December, the cabinet claimed that this measure would in principle only last three weeks. Then they would look at an extension, but three weeks was really the max! That was the heartfelt thought. That now turns out to be different: on Tuesday, Prime Minister Rutte himself will ‘honestly admit’ that the lockdown will remain much longer … in every until most if not all people over 60 have been vaccinated.

The elections are over, and you know what that means: the cabinet can finally be fair. And yes, the Gelderlander message that Prime Minister Mark Rutte will announce tomorrow that the lockdown will not be relaxed for the time being. Oh no. The situation is so bad – people fall by the wayside, can’t you see that around you in everyday life ?! – that there is no other way. Certainly not until at least most or all people over 60 have been vaccinated.

The excuse that the government is using to keep people locked up and to continue to demolish the economy is that the numbers of hospital admissions and infections are “too high”. Yes, it will. The number of infections has increased, now that children are tested and you yourself want as much testing as possible everywhere.

And with regard to the number of hospital admissions: too high for what? Healthcare can handle it easily. The admissions are not “too high” for the system – not even after Rutte has done his best for ten years to completely and completely undress the care.

Totally crazy. But wait, it gets worse. Because do you know when that point is reached, according to “cabinet sources”? Start with. At the earliest. Downright scandalous!

The country must open, because it cannot go on like this for much longer. The Netherlands has to run much earlier than that, as always. Show some courage and vision!
