In general, 7.6 percent of Kazakhstanis drink alcohol in dangerous doses.
– The prevalence of dangerous drinking among the general population is 7.6 percent, among men it is 2.7 percent and significantly higher among women at 11.8 percent, the study says.
Regional differences are clearly seen in the regions of Kazakhstan.
It turned out that the highest rates of alcohol consumption are in Aktobe (20.9 percent) and Kostanay (19.6 percent) regions.
Almaty also significantly exceeds the average republican indicator – 15.5 percent.
Whereas in the Mangistau region and Shymkent the lowest rates were noted – 0.8 percent and 1 percent.
