Made in China. Tesla will export its available Model 3 from Shanghai to Europe

From the end of this month, the American electric car manufacturer Tesla will export its Model 3 sedan manufactured in Shanghai to the European market. The carmaker informed about it today through the social network WeChat.

The company will export Model 3 to more than ten countries, including Germany, France, Italy and Switzerland. The Gigafactory 3 plant on the outskirts of Shanghai, Tesla’s first plant outside the United States, began delivering cars to the local market earlier this year.

The plant plans to produce 150,000 electric cars this year. In September, Tesla sold 11,000 cars in China, the world’s largest car market. The carmaker is going to expand its production capacity in Shanghai and also produce the sports-utility Model Y there.

Reuters reported last month that Tesla will export cars made in China to Asian and European markets. Of the Asian ones, she named Japan and Hong Kong.

Tesla’s headquarters are located in Fremont, California, USA. It employs over 10,000 people. It covers an area of 51 hectares, but is no longer sufficient for the needs of a fast-growing society. In the past, Tesla had to build two makeshift shelters near the plant.

The company is now also building its first factory in Europe near Berlin. The plant, known as Gigafactory 4, is expected to start production in 2021 and is expected to leave around 500,000 cars a year. The company wants to produce Model Y, Model 3 and also propulsion systems and batteries.
