Almost exactly a year ago, the late Karel Gott loved cars and during his life he had a nice line from fabia to Porsche. His garage also gradually included several S-Class Mercedes – and one of them, a piece of the W220 generation, is currently for sale.

The car is for sale in Prague and the seller in one of the ads on the German website Autoscout24 “documents” the first owner using a photo of the Vehicle Registration Certificate. It actually says Gott’s name, but the license plate is blacked out.

The car has, as he proves another ad for the same car on the Czech advertising website Sbazar, its original Prague brand, ie 3A4 9349. According to archive photographs and other sources, the dark gray Mercedes S 500 with this brand really belonged to Gott, so there is little doubt about the authenticity of the car.

The S 500 version meant a five-liter petrol eight-cylinder with 306 horsepower for the W220 generation. According to the photos, the car is in an exceptional condition, fully equipped and has 223,000 kilometers behind it. However, the price corresponds to the status of the first owner – it is 649 thousand crowns. The price of similar pieces without this history is approximately up to 150 thousand crowns.

The W220 generation is the fourth in the family of flagship brands of the Stuttgart brand. It was produced between 1999 and 2005. Not only elegance, but also 485 thousand pieces sold surpassed the previous third, seemingly more angular edition. Over the years, Gott has owned several other “Esk” Mercedes, including the last sixth generation W222.
