The caretaker Minister of Energy Andrey Zhivkov, in his capacity of exercising the rights of the state as the sole owner of the capital of Bulgarian Energy Holding EAD, today dismissed the Board of Directors of the company consisting of: Valentin Nikolov, Diyan Dimitrov, Ivan Andreev, Stelian Koev and Alexander Tsarnorechki, announced the Ministry of Energy.
The termination of their powers under the contracts for assignment of the management of the company is on the grounds of art. 221, item 4 and Art. 232a of the Commercial Law, Art. 13, Art. 15, para. 1 and para. 3, Art. 24, para. 1, item 6 in connection with Art. 23 of the Public Enterprises Act. Dismissed members of the Board of Directors are not released from liability.
Maria Velkova, Veselina Kanatova-Buchkova, Iva Petrova and Eng. Plamen Dilkov and Anton Simeonov have been appointed as members of the Board of Directors of Bulgarian Energy Holding EAD until a competition is held within six months.
The new management of the holding should take the necessary actions to enter the change in the Commercial Register.
Who are the new members of the Board of Directors of BEH EAD:
Maria Velkova – Master of Energy and Finance from Cass Business School, London. She has worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers, Sofia, EMIS Energy Ltd., Low Carbon Ltd., London, where she was responsible for the identification and implementation of new transactions in the field of renewable energy. She has been Vice President of Mergers and Acquisitions at Enery GmbH, Vienna. He speaks English, German and Spanish.
Veselina Kanatova – Buchkova – Master of Law from the University of Plovdiv “Paisii Hilendarski”, specializing in the University of Vienna, the Institute of European Sciences, Austria, the Asser Institute, the Netherlands. Associate Professor of Administrative Law and Administrative Process at SWU “Neofit Rilski”, Blagoevgrad and at the Institute of State and Law at BAS. Member of the Plovdiv Bar Association. He speaks English, speaks German.
Iva Petrova – Master of Business Administration from Sofia University “Kliment Ohridski”. She also graduated from the University of Birmingham, Great Britain. He has a number of specializations in Japan, Belgium, Great Britain. Long-term employee of the Ministry of Economy and Energy, where she was responsible for the management and monitoring of energy projects financed under bilateral and multilateral programs, as well as for activities in the field of creating effectively functioning energy markets and others. She also worked at Bulgarian Energy Holding EAD. Until now she has been a partner in ZBi Advisors Ltd. – a company specializing in management consulting in energy. Fluent in English, speaks Italian.
Eng. Plamen Dilkov – civil engineer from the University of Sciences in Trento – Meziano (Trentino). Manager of a number of companies in the field of energy, including Svoge HPP, Maritsa HPP EOOD, PVB Power Bulgaria AD, Co-Chairman and Member of the Board of the Union of Environmental Energy Producers, Member of the Board of Directors of CEDEC – European Federation of Local Energy Companies , Deputy Chairman of Confindustria Bulgaria, Member of the Management Board of the Hydropower Association and of the Alliance for Energy Efficiency. He speaks Italian and Russian, speaks English.
Anton Simeonov – Has over 10 years of experience in the field of energy. Bachelor and Master of Economics. He has significant experience in the field of financial audit, as well as training and completed courses in the field of investment banking. He has passed one of the most prestigious programs of the US State Department – IVLP – with a focus on energy security and foreign policy. He speaks English and Russian.
