Economy Commission debates seventh withdrawal of AFP funds

The Economic Commission of the Congress of the Republic has been debating the prediction of the modernization of the Peruvian Pension System, which also includes a seventh withdrawal of AFP funds.

If the rule is approved, only 4 UITs will be able to withdraw from their AFPs for those who did not contribute for 6 consecutive months until November 2023. If the member chooses to withdraw any amount from their AFP funds in this seventh withdrawal, they will lose the option to apply for the minimum pension. of S/600.

As recalled, last December the Economy Commission rejected the debate for an eventual seventh withdrawal of funds from private pension administrators (AFP) until March of this year.

Premier will not oppose the withdrawal of 4 UITs from the AFP

The president of the Council of Ministers, Gustavo Adrianzén expressed his agreement with the congressmen of Podemos Peru on the need to comply with the payment of the social debt, which includes his non-opposition to the proposal to withdraw up to 4 UIT (S/ 20,600), of the accounts managed by the AFPs.

This was revealed to the press by the leader of Podemos Peru, José Luna Gálvez, after the meeting of the congressmen of the parliamentary bench with the head of the ministerial cabinet, in which they agreed on the need for the government to prioritize the application of measures urgent for economic reactivation and the fight against the crime wave that scares away investments and prevents the development of our economy.

“We discussed the withdrawal of the AFP at the meeting. That is part of the social debt. (The head of the PCM) agrees with us that the social debt must be fulfilled: the payment of Fonavi, the ONP recognition bonus and the withdrawal of the AFP. “He is not going to oppose,” Luna Gálvez stressed.
