The Cessna 172 was carrying a banner with an offer of marriage. There were two people on board. As a result of the crash, one of them died, the second was hospitalized.
Police and firefighters were dispatched to the scene, as well as a team of investigators from the Transportation Safety Board of Canada.
The plane is known to have crashed near the Bridge of Concord, which leads to the island of Saint Helene, where the Osheaga Get Together music festival is in full swing. Event organizers said the incident did not affect the festival.
