A 1 year and 8 month old girl died this Sunday, August 9 at fall into a canal in the Chinampera area of the Apatlac Ecotourism Centeror, in Xochimilco.

The authorities reported that after learning of a report of a missing girl in the chinampas area, elements of the Riverside Police, the Rescue Squad and Medical Emergencies, Firefighters and Civil Protection of Xochimilco, carried out a search in various sectors of the channels of that mayor’s office.
The Secretariat of Citizen Security of the government of Mexico City reported that, according to the complaint made by the mother of the minor, who is 20 years old, said he lost sight of his daughter when he was at home, which is located near one of the channels.
Elements of the Riparian Police used water equipment to search for the minor, who was found hours later, lifeless, on the shore of a canal.
For its part, the Mexico City Prosecutor’s Office reported that experts went to the place to remove the body, the indications and expert evidence, initiating the investigation folder for the crime of wrongful death, against whoever is responsible.
