In the “Soko Tape” of the police concerned with the Ibiza scandal, there are currently 15 investigators and three officers in management positions, according to a recent response from Interior Minister Karl Nehammer (ÖVP) to the FPÖ. In the dispute over the information of the Economic and Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (WKStA) about the location of the video, the minister defends his employees.
Both the media decree of the interior and the justice department had been complied with in the media work on ongoing investigative proceedings, according to Nehammer (http://go.apa.at/ATMG1olf). As to why the public was informed of the success of the search before the WKStA, he referred to the responsibility of the Vienna Public Prosecutor’s Office in this matter. “The media work was coordinated with me”; it was done in agreement with the StA Vienna.
According to Nehammer, six of the Soko-Tape officials regularly work for the Economic and Corruption Public Prosecutor’s Office (WKStA) in the CASAG / Novomatic case. Between June 27, 2019 and July 1, 2020, a total of 70 reports were sent to the WKStA, among other things due to the data and data carriers secured in the Causa Casinos.
