Teacher threatens to behead schoolgirl for commenting on Israeli flag in US
Georgia: A teacher who threatened to behead a female student after her remark against the Israeli flag in the US was arrested.
Benjamin Rees, a seventh-grade social studies teacher at Warner Robins Middle School in Georgia, was arrested.
ABC News reported that the student said the Israeli flag in Reese’s class bothered her.
Another teacher also reported seeing Reese yelling at three students on the school porch on Dec. 7. Several teachers, students and school staff heard Reese yelling profanities at students and threatening to decapitate them, police said.
The student says the incident happened after she said she had a question about the Israeli flag in class.
The student reportedly asked why the flag was placed there. According to the report, Rees replied that he was Jewish and that his relatives were still in Israel.
The girl told Reese that the flag was bothering her.
But Reese says he never spoke to anyone on the porch. Reese claims that when the girl in her class said the flag was annoying, she meant she was being anti-Semitic.
The police said that audio was not available in the CCTV footage from the spot. But the footage shows Reese standing on the porch and students walking away from him. A girl in the crowd looks back at Reese.
It is reported that Reese has been released from jail on bail.
