To protect the most vulnerable, a special medical consultation has just been created for people recognized to be at risk of developing a serious form of Covid-19 and patients treated for a long-term condition (ALD). This medical examination is fully reimbursed by Health Insurance, provided that it is carried out before June 30, 2020.
During confinement due to the health crisis of the Covid-19, seeing your doctor, or having your medical exams can be quite complicated. However, for fragile people, the consequences of less regular medical monitoring can have potentially serious consequences on their state of health.
In order to protect the most vulnerable, the Ministry of Health has just set up a special consultation for people recognized at risk of developing a severe form of Covid-19 and patients treated for a long-term condition (ALD), who have not been able to see their general practitioner since March 17, 2020 or who are referred by a health facility after hospitalization.
100% refunded
This consultation, known as “long”, is in particular the occasion to take stock of the impact of confinement on his state of health, but also to receive personalized advice on the protective measures to be adopted vis-à-vis the Covid-19.
Offered until June 30, 2020, and fully covered by Health Insurance. The price of this consultation cannot give rise to an overrun. Those concerned are invited to contact their doctor immediately to benefit from a “long consultation”.
List of people deemed vulnerable to Covid-19
In early April 2020, the High Council for Public Health estimated that the people most likely to develop severe forms of Covid-19 are: people aged 70 and over (although people aged 50 to 70 should be monitored more closely), patients with a cardiovascular history (complicated hypertension, stroke or coronary artery disease, heart surgery, NYHA III or IV stage heart failure), diabetics who are unbalanced or who have complications secondary to their pathology, people with chronic respiratory pathology likely to decompensate during a viral infection, as well as patients with chronic renal failure on dialysis and patients with cancer under treatment (except hormone therapy).
To this list, Health Insurance adds: diabetics, people aged 65 and over, chronic liver patients (cirrhosis, etc.), those suffering from a decrease in immune defenses (cancer, immunosuppressive treatment, HIV …), severe chronic kidney disease or chronic respiratory disease (COPD, asthma …), overweight people (obesity (body mass index (BMI)> 30 kg / m2), those with major sickle cell syndrome or a history of splenectomy as well as pregnant women on day 3e trimester of pregnancy.
