France declares itself on alert for a progressive increase in infections after adding 4,586 cases

The health authorities of France have warned this Friday that there is a progressive increase in infections after registering another 4,586 cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours.

With 430 active outbreaks on French territory, the positivity rate continues to grow, now standing at 3.4 percent. In one week, a total of 20,482 cases of covid-19 have been detected.

In a statement, the Ministry of Health has indicated that another 4,771 infections were found on Wednesday. In addition, 23 people have died in the last day, which places the death toll since the start of the pandemic at 30,503.

On the other hand, another 210 people have had to be hospitalized since Thursday, so there are now 4,745 patients admitted to the country’s hospitals, of which 37 are in intensive care units. In the ICU there are, in total, 379 people.

In the last day, 44 new covid-19 outbreaks have also been registered, as explained by the French authorities, who have warned that 84,829 have been discharged since the health crisis broke out.

Likewise, they have pointed out that the incidence rate of the virus has increased by 42 percent in a week, while nine departments have exceeded the threshold of 50 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.
