Extraordinary news about the bloody murder of a woman in Sofia

The Sofia City Prosecutor’s Office brought as a defendant AS, 56 years old, in pre-trial proceedings for causing death as a result of intentionally inflicted bodily injury – a crime under Article 124, paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code.

As BLIC wrote, a 46-year-old woman was beaten to death by the man with whom she lived on a family basis in Sofia.

The victim – MK, 46 years old, was found dead on the morning of April 8, 2021 in an apartment in the capital’s Benkovski district. After calling 112, emergency teams and the police were sent there. The scene was inspected by officers of the Second Regional Hospital in Sofia and the body was subsequently sent for autopsy.

The preliminary conclusion of the experts is that the death occurred from a severe traumatic brain injury. There were signs of violence on the woman’s body.

AS was detained for 24 hours. By a decree of the prosecutor supervising the pre-trial proceedings, the remand measure was extended for up to 72 hours.

The investigation continues under the direction and supervision of the Sofia City Prosecutor’s Office, expert examinations have been appointed, interrogations are being carried out.

A request is to be submitted to the Sofia City Court for the imposition of a permanent measure of restraint “detention in custody” of the accused.
