DOE Introduces 2020-21 School Calendar for New York

The city’s Department of Education released the calendar for the 2020-2021 academic year, eleven days before the official start of classes.

As previously announced, distance learning will begin on September 16 with a transition period of days.

The first full day of school will be on September 21 and blended learning will begin that same day.

Unlike previous years, students will have a full day of distance school on Election Day.

The last day of school is scheduled for June 25th.

Holidays and breaks for the academic year are maintained in this new calendar, with the exception of the April break, which will last one week, two days less than last year.
