The products are marked as Milka mini cornet vanilla chocolate 8×25 ml (multipack), Milka mini ice cream vanilla chocolate 6x50ml (multipack), Milka chocolate nut 100 ml, Milka caramel crunch 100 ml, Milka chocolate and vanilla 100 ml and Milka ice cream chocolate vanilla cup 480 ml. Consumption data for defective batches are from 2022 to May 2023.

According to Vorlíček, ethylene oxide is a very reactive gaseous substance with mutagenic and carcinogenic effects. It is used as a pesticide to treat some plant commodities. Not allowed in the European Union.

At the end of July, the JRC also warned against Polish smoked boneless flank from Animex Foods, which was also found to contain ethylene oxide. Earlier last month, veterinarians reported that trace amounts of ethylene oxide contained Kunín Pohár milk dessert from Lactalis CZ. The company withdrew 385,000 of these desserts from the market. According to her, it was a preventive action, the health of consumers was not endangered, she said.
