Covid-19 in Colombia: deaths and cases today, January 6, 2022 – Other Cities – Colombia

Cases of coronavirus in the country continue to increase. According to the report of the Ministry of Health this Thursday, January 6, in Colombia 23,039 new cases of covid-19 were reported in the last hours. This, after 96,548 tests were processed (42,601 of PCR and 53,947 of antigens).

In the country, to date, 30,077,449 tests have been processed. Thus, Colombia reaches 5,242,672 confirmed coronavirus cases since the pandemic began, in March 2020.

The Minsalud bulletin also reports 51 more deaths from the virus. With this update, the total death toll in Colombia rises to 130,191.

In the last 24 hours, in addition, 8,724 recovered patients were reported. Thus, there are already 5,006,108 people who to date have overcome covid-19 in the country.

In total, there are 87,613 cases that remain active in Colombia.

Regarding the advance of National Vaccination Plan, the health authority reported that, with a cut-off at 11:59 pm on January 4, 65,271,100 doses of the vaccine against covid-19 have been applied in the country. Of that figure, 33,148,067 correspond to the first dose; 23,260,134 at second dose; 3,522,444, booster doses, and 5’340,455 are from the single-dose vaccine.

In Colombia, 28,600,589 people already have the complete vaccination scheme.
