Comment: Center for goal plus Kúdela as a “trophy”. Bale finally knocked the Czechs to their knees

After an exhibition drive against Estonia and an impressive performance against Belgium, a sobering came: The unfortunate defeat of the national team in Wales.

In Cardiff, an emotional, sharpened match awaited the footballers, which to some extent followed the last performance of the football team from the Czech Republic in the British Isles, ie the duel of the Glasgow Rangers with Slavia.

Which was to be expected.

As well as the fact that the domestic Welsh people will try to feed the resonant topic of racism in such a way as to put as much pressure as possible on the favored Czechs. And it is only good that the national team did not succumb to it. Kúdela, who is currently probably the best Czech stopper, not only traveled to Wales, but even appeared in the basic line-up.

And further: while the domestic football players, including the referees, fell to their knees before the kick-off as an expression of support for the BLM movement, Darida et al. remained standing. Their gesture with an emphasis on the word “respect” embroidered on the sleeve was a very good idea: an appropriate and rational definition of racism.

By the way – little respect for the coach of the national team was subsequently shown by the Welsh production of the television broadcast, which pasted the name tag Franco Šilhavý to the shot of Jaroslav Šilhavý. Since it is common practice to check each letter for similar headlines, such a “typo” smells slightly.

And when it really came to be malicious mischief, one can only hope that the director referred to the Italian actor Frank Ner and not to the Spanish dictator, who is responsible for hundreds of thousands of human lives.

The tram of Welsh television can be voted on with foresight and exaggeration, but this no longer applies to the intervention of Gareth Ball on Ondřej Kúdel from the 85th minute, who was already – without fun – suspicious. The 31-year-old winger cut his elbow behind him, even though he knew that the Slavic stopper was right behind him.

It is a strange coincidence that the match ended with a bloody injury from all the players just Kúdela. And the utterly incomprehensible is the statement of a Sky TV commentator, who dryly stated after the operation that “a lot of people from the football environment will not be angry that he got Kúdel in the face.” Unfortunately, this is not true, he is not alone in celebrating Bale’s brutal intervention, for which the player did not even receive a yellow one…

Unfortunately, Bale did not train only Kúdel in the match, but the whole Czech team. He was reminded in the 81st minute that he was the most expensive pile on the planet. Standing out, he made a cuff for Coufal and put the balloon on James’ head, which hit the helpless Vaclík.

In the end, however, the Czech team lost points by itself. Despite the hostile atmosphere on the islands, despite the strict exclusion of Schick shortly after the break. It was Leverkusen’s assailant who stupidly pushed into Roberts. It was Provod or Čelůstka who could not change their great chances, it was Bořil who headed 170 centimeters tall James before the goal.

It’s a shame. Another football victory on British soil would be the best response.
