Columbus Blue Jackets receive 2023 first-round pick from Kings in completed trade

As reported by my colleague Alex Desrosiers, a trade has just been completed between the Columbus Blue Jackets and the Los Angeles Kings.

We are talking here about a transaction concluded at the most recent trade deadline, but which has just been settled.

Reminder: The Guardian Joonas Korpisalo and the defender Vladislav Gavrikovformerly of the Blue Jackets, were acquired by the Los Angeles Kings on March 1.

In exchange, Columbus received Jonathan Quick as well as a conditional first-round pick in 2023.

We can now officially remove the condition.

Now that the Kings have officially qualified for the 2023 playoffs, the Blue Jackets will receive a 2023 first-round pick.

The Kings’ first-round pick officially passed to the Jackets today.

This is an important addition for Columbus, who is in the race for Connor Bedard and who will now be able to draft another time, in the first round, in this very talented 2023 vintage.
