The reason for our statement today is that since we have been listening to all sorts of points of reference for months during the election campaigns. We tried to refute, but the chorus against us was so powerful and strong and lined that they could not be heard. That is why I want to thank Asen Vassilev, the Minister of Energy, for giving us the opportunity yesterday to explain the lies they told about our government, said GERB leader Boyko Borissov at the beginning of a press conference at the party headquarters.
I start with quotes. On April 27, Mr. Vassilev told a briefing: “Through the Greek connection, we can supply 3 billion cubic meters of gas a year, plus 2 billion if we expand it. By expansion, we mean that the Greeks already have to build compressors.” You have heard this from me many times. He added: “Through the Greek connection, we can supply a total of about 20 billion cubic meters of gas – 2 billion through the Tower and 17-18 billion through the interconnectors with Greece.” Here I add that they are not 17-18 billion, but about 31 billion cubic meters. In a word – he continues, I thank him again for erasing the claim of all these liars with an eraser. So the claim that Bulgaria does not have routes to secure gas is ridiculous, said Asen Vassilev, Borisov continued.
