Viktor Orbán met with the French president

At the meeting, the two politicians discussed various topics on the agenda of the European Council on December 14 and 15, including

aspects of European support to Ukraine, the situation in the Middle East, issues related to enlargement and reform of the European Union.

During the evening, the Prime Minister shared a joint picture with his colleague on his social media page.
“Preparation for the EU summit with President Macron in Paris” – wrote the Prime Minister in his post published on Facebook.

Decisive negotiations before the EU summit

A Hungarian Nation published a longer article about the event. The newspaper pointed out that before the meeting, the Western press stated that the Hungarian Prime Minister could be a tough nut to crack for the French Prime Minister, as he recently declared that he would oppose the European Commission’s newly proposed 50 billion euro package for Ukraine, as well as the fact that Kiev could start the EU accession negotiations.
