Boris Akunin (Grigory Chkhartishvili) Included in Russian Register of Extremists and Terrorists

The name of the writer Boris Akunin (Grigory Shalvovich Chkhartishvili) was included in the state register of extremists and terrorists maintained by the RosFinnadzor organization. Next to his name in the register there is an asterisk – *, which means that a criminal case has been opened against the writer under an article on terrorism. Changes in the register are published by the monitoring telegram channel “Updates to the list of terrorists and extremists”

Demands to include Boris Akunin in the register of “foreign agents” and in the register of “extremists and terrorists” have appeared repeatedly: the latest such demand was sent to the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation by activist Vitaly Borodin, who asked to check the writer’s statements for extremism and calls for terrorism. Telegram channel reported this SHOT.

The reason for this demand was the publication of Boris Akunin’s conversation in the show of prankster provocateurs Vovan and Lexus, from which Akunin received a call from an actor who introduced himself as Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky and asked questions about current politics.

Akunin, in a conversation with Zelensky, made a recommendation that Ukrainian propaganda should call on Russian soldiers to desert, and also stated that the shelling of Crimea by Ukrainian missiles “does not cause him to protest.” Boris Akunin has opposed Russian aggression in Ukraine from the very beginning.
