The Portuguese Professional Football League (LPFP) meets, tomorrow, Thursday, at the Directorate-General for Health to discuss preventive measures related to the Covid-19 coronavirus.
“This meeting, which will take place at the request of the League, will only serve to talk about preventive measures and anticipate scenarios in Portuguese professional football, at a time when Italian football is suffering the consequences of existing cases”, reads a statement issued by the League.
The organization that represents the Liga and Liga 2 clubs does not hide its apprehension: «Concerned about a possible escalation of the situation, the Liga will know how professional football can prevent itself from the virus’s arrival in our country.»
It is recalled that the provisional balance of the epidemic is at least 2,763 dead and about 81 thousand infected. In addition to 2,717 deaths in China, there are reports of fatalities in Iran, South Korea, Italy, Japan, the Philippines, France and Taiwan.
