The Czechia has been experiencing the darkest summer in recent years. Since the beginning of June, six celebrities who rightfully belonged to the legends of show business have died. Each time there was an insidious disease behind their departure for eternal rest.
Libuše Šafránková († 68)
Libuše Šafránková she last exhaled on Wednesday, June 9. Two days earlier, she managed to celebrate her 68th birthday with her family and especially her beloved husband Josef Abrhám. After the meeting, she went to the hospital on Prague’s Charles Square for a planned medical examination, but unfortunately she did not return home.
The eternal princess of Czech film, the representative of Cinderella, Večernice and many other iconic characters, fought cancer. In 2014, during a demanding operation, doctors removed part of her lungs with a tumor.
The Ministry of Culture offered the survivors a funeral with state honors, but the Šafránková family refused. But in the end, the state participated in the organization last farewell in the church of St. Anežka in Spořilov, Prague, where the actress went for many years.
On Friday, July 2, a funeral mass was held in Šlapanice, where Šafránková grew up. Her remains were placed in the family grave there after Mass.

Nina Diviskova († 84)
Just a few days after Šafránková, her friend Nina Divíšková left us forever. The actress died on Monday, June 21, she has been battling Alzheimer’s disease for a long time.
For her husband Jan Kačer, who also became friends with Šafránková, this June was perhaps the most difficult month of her life. As soon as he said goodbye to his friend, he had to start arranging his wife’s funeral.
