The average payment terms declared by all Establishments and Public Enterprises (EEP) reached 40.93 days at the end of May 2020, indicates a press release from the Ministry of Economy, Finance and Administrative Reform (MEFRA).

Overall, the positive trend observed since December 2018 is confirmed, with an average of 40.93 days at the end of last May, against 41.7 days at the end of April 2020, 42.6 days at the end of March 2020, 43.03 days at the end February 2020, 41.6 days in January 2020 and 42 days in late December 2019, the statement said.

This positive trend summarizes the effective involvement of PEEs and the improvement actions undertaken by some of them with a view to reducing their payment periods as well as the efforts deployed by the public authorities, including recently those undertaken to deal with the economic impacts. and social issues of the Covid-19 pandemic and those forming part of a post-Covid recovery plan for the various economic sectors with a view to boosting the national economy.

“Following the High Directions contained in the Royal Speech of August 20, 2018 and in order to concretize the commitment made by the Minister of the Economy, Finance and the Reform of the Administration in the circular of June 21, 2019 addressed to the Establishments et Entreprises Publics (EEP), the Ministry of Economy, Finance and Administrative Reform (MEFRA) on Tuesday June 30, 2020, published the payment terms declared by the EEP for the month of May 2020, and this, in the section of the Observatory of Payment Deadlines (ODP) on the portal of the said Ministry ”, we note from the same source.

This publication marks the effective start of a monthly publication knowing that MEFRA is part of a progressive approach by publishing on October 31, 2019, December 31, 2019 and February 28, 2020 the payment deadlines declared by the PEAs, concerning, respectively, the months of June, September and December 2019 and by simultaneously publishing on June 10, 2020, the deadlines of the months of January, February, March and April 2020 for considerations relating to the particular situation marked by the COVID health crisis -19, says the press release.

The EEP constitute major actors in the growth model of Morocco taking into account their multiple interventions in the offer of public services to the citizens and the companies, in the realization of structuring projects for the economic and social development, the regional planning , reducing territorial disparities, opening up to international markets and promoting public as well as private investment in various sectors of activity.
