After the inconvenience caused by the agreement established between the Dominican Republic and AstraZeneca for the purchase of vaccines and certain delays in the process, it was announced that the country was negotiating with the pharmaceutical company to reach an agreement, which consisted in , instead of sending the delayed vaccines, which supply other medications belonging to the same company.
Currently, the Ministry of Public Health reported that AstraZeneca has not yet given a response to the proposal, but they remain waiting for her.
It is known that the contract in which the purchase of these anticovid vaccines was established a specific number of doses was found with exact dates, which to date are still pending more than nine million of these.
This is why Eladio Pérez, Deputy Minister of Collective Health, communicated that the most convenient thing was to negotiate with the company, because there are expired vaccines and within these are included AstraZeneca, in addition to the fact that currently the main needs of the country are not for vaccines.
