Apple Fitness + now in Germany, Switzerland and Austria

Apple will introduce the next part of its services offensive in Europe in the coming week. According to the group, the fitness + sports service will be available in 15 additional countries on November 3rd. The new markets are Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Italy, Portugal and Spain as well as Russia, Brazil, Indonesia, Colombia, Malaysia, Mexico, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. The service, which will cost 10 euros a month, will continue to run in English, but will include subtitles in German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and Russian.

Fitness + was actually launched in December 2020 – but only in certain English-speaking countries. Apple produces the content itself in its own studios and therefore has all the necessary rights – why the introduction of subtitling took so long remains unclear.

Fitness + currently offers around 1200 different courses, which are also available in 4K. Some of the courses require aids, for example spinning on the training bike is offered or dumbbells are necessary. But many offers can also be used just like that. Yoga, Pilates and meditations are also offered (“Cool Down”).

Particularly tempting for people who are anchored in the Apple ecosystem: Fitness + includes the use of real-time data from Apple Watch and Apple Music and runs on various Apple devices. This includes iPhone, iPad and Apple TV via AirPlay. A new addition is the joint use by up to 32 users via the SharePlay service.

In addition to Fitness +, Apple will also be bringing its most expensive subscription package, Apple One Premium, to Germany, Austria and Switzerland from November 3rd. The bundle can be bought in a total of 21 countries. It includes Apple Music, TV +, Arcade, Fitness + and iCloud + with 2 TB. The family package allows sharing with up to five people. The cost is 28.95 euros per month, which is a price advantage compared to individual subscriptions. Services that are not yet used can be tried out free of charge for 30 days as part of the subscription. Unpleasant: The magazine and news service Apple News +, part of the premium subscription in the USA, Great Britain, Canada and Australia, has been omitted completely because it is still not available in this country.
