The National Police reported that they arrested the members of an alleged gang that on May 21 staged a shooting against several patrols of that institution in the Capotillo sector.
He said that the group was engaged in the hiring, purchase and distribution of illegal firearms, drugs and compulsory collection, as a result of drug trafficking activities.
It is recalled that on May 21, a video went viral on different social networks where a group of antisocials from the Capotillo sector, National District, with firearms of different calibres, fired multiple shots into the air, causing the unrest of the locals.
The Prevention, Intelligence and Investigation agencies indicated that during that incident, police sergeant Lugo de la Rosa was wounded on the forehead, at unscrupulous moments when they threw stones and bottles at the patrols.
The leader of the aforementioned criminal group is Wellington Bernardino Rodríguez Miranda (a) Buche, who, in the face of the constant police siege, turned himself in to the authorities through representatives of Human Rights; while Amín Abel Rodríguez Miranda and Wildy Jael Rosario de la Cruz (a) Nano or Búfalo, Juan José Severino (a) Juanjito, Carlos David Santana Montero (a) Vivita, and the nicknames “Guachate or Guanchinter”, “El Menor” and “Ricky” were captured during various operations.
Police said that each of them is observed shooting on public roads.
He said that a gun left abandoned on the scene, coincides with the casings collected in 10 cases that include homicides and gunshot wounds, which occurred between 2013 and 2014 in the sectors La Zurza, Capotillo and La Puya de Arroyo Hondo.
It indicates that the aforementioned firearm was used in the incidents where Benito Flores Alevante, Reimy Rivera, Miguel Lorenzo (a) Yojani, Doroteo Paredes Ramos and Nadel Ernesto Meléndez Ramírez were killed.
While the wounded are Fiordaliza Mordan Solís, Amarfi Alejandra Serrano, Francisco Javier González Cruz, Fausto Sánchez Encarnación, Aurelio Cabral de la Rosa, Marino Abreu Taveras (a) Daniel, Luis Alfredo batista Estrella (a) Quiquito or el Sucio, the Haitian Semetal Avistal, and Javier Rodríguez Peñaló (a) Guevo Bolo.
Our National Police reports that the investigation process continues to identify and arrest other members of this criminal structure that seeks to tarnish peaceful coexistence and disturb public order.
