All history textbooks will be checked in Russia after criticizing Putin

Putin doesn’t like history textbooks

During his address to the Federal Assembly, Putin said that in some school textbooks he was surprised to find “that it seems that it is not written about us.”

The Russian Education Ministry will analyze all school history textbooks, Education Minister Sergei Kravtsov said on the Russia 1 TV channel, Meduza writes.

“We will now conduct a complete analysis of all textbooks,” said Kravtsov.

On April 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin, during his address to the Federal Assembly, said that in some school textbooks he was surprised to find “that it does not seem to be written about us.”

As an example, he cited a textbook that did not mention the Battle of Stalingrad. “Who writes, who misses such textbooks? It’s amazing!” Putin said.

In March, it became known that the Ministry of Education had approved a series of textbooks on Russian and general history edited by Vladimir Medinsky, aide to the President of the Russian Federation, Chairman of the Russian Military History Society, who had previously been criticized for the quality of his doctoral dissertation in history.
