A consultant reveals most of the myths and mispractices in treating epilepsy

Al-Marsad Newspaper: Dr. Fawzia Bamqadam, a consultant neurosurgeon, revealed most of the myths and mispractices in treating epilepsy, including tying the head with iron and using the gourd.

And he explained during his appearance on the “Yahla” channel: Most of those tied their heads to a piece of iron, claiming that there was a hole in the brain from which air escapes, and one of the risks is that one of them passed out and suffered a stroke.

He added that some of them claim that percussion reduces electrical charges in the brain, pointing out that the human mind contains balanced electrical ions that allow the person to see and move.
