Pedro Proença, president of the League of Clubs, expressed today, through the social network Facebook, his concern about the possible lead to the State Budget and the possible consequent political crisis affecting Portuguese professional football.
“It is with some concern that we see the possibility of a political crisis approaching in Portugal, transversal to the various activities of the country and which may, once again, harm and jeopardize the future of Professional Football”, began by stating the director.
«After more than a year and a half of uncertainties and sacrifices caused by Covid-19, there is now the possibility that the country remains politically suspended and all the work that has been done by Liga Portugal becomes hostage to another crisis to which we are totally aliens. We will always leave to the political power what is political, but we have our commitment to the Professional Football industry, which, having not received any support from the Recovery and Resilience Plan, will, as it has done so far, claim a set major structural changes that make our activity more competitive internationally», he underlined.
