It will relaunch measures in high-risk regions. Karviná is the worst off

A total of 122 hospitalized patients, 11 of them in severe condition and 168 newly confirmed cases – these are Friday’s numbers concerning Covid-19 in the Czech Republic. According to the Ministry of Health, targeted testing in local outbreaks contributes to a significant increase in newly detected cases.

“We have ordered several more comprehensive tests within OKD. Roughly 10 percent of those tested were positive, but again did not need symptoms,” said Health Minister Adam Vojtěch (for YES).

The worst affected region remains Karviná, where there are more than 90 people with Covid-19 per 100,000 inhabitants. “Yesterday, only the Karviná district has 69 new cases and we can see that the number is steadily rising there. Therefore, the disintegrations that we plan for the whole republic from 1 July will not apply to Karviná,” explains Vojtěch.

It is said that, among other things, there will continue to be the obligation to wear veils indoors, to observe spacings and to inspect entrances to hospitals. Details are due to be released by the Ministry of Health on Monday. It is also being considered that the obligation to wear veils in public transport will remain in Prague.

From next week, however, the regime on the border with the Silesian Voivodeship region in Poland, which borders the Moravian-Silesian Region, will be relaxed. Czechs and foreigners will no longer have to submit a negative test or quarantine on the way out.
