One person dies and two more are injured in a fire registered in an apartment building in the Bronx.
The flames started at the home located on Evergreen Avenue in the Soundview neighborhood around 2 p.m. yesterday. One person was pronounced dead at the scene and two others suffered minor injuries.
Firefighters indicate that the fire spread rapidly on the first and second floors.
17 members of 5 families were displaced and are receiving help from the Red Cross.
To put out the fire, they needed the intervention of 100 firefighters, who managed to control the flames.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
