The seriously ill Jana Hlaváčová (83) has been staying aside for years. She could only leave the villa in Modřany, Prague, in a wheelchair. But the legend of Czech acting surprised everyone this week. Colleagues and fans heard her voice after more than 10 years.
She is fighting a serious illness, yet Jana Hlaváčová gathered her strength and spoke at the funeral of director Dušan Klein on Friday. Although her noble voice with the Strašnice crematorium was on record, it was a big surprise for show business colleagues that they could hear him again after many years.
“Mr. Dusan Klein was one of the kindest artists. He was a great professional who could tune in to the actors so that after a while it was done. You will miss a lot.” Hlaváčová said goodbye to Klein.
They met, for example, in his film series Poets, in which Luděk Munzar’s widow played the nurse Tonička.
Hlaváčová could not say goodbye to him in person. But the record made it possible for her, at least in part. “I had to do that. He was Mr. Director with a big P and R. Kind, wise, he was a wonderful not only director, but above all a man. He was an expert on human souls. He was not rejected.” she told the diary Aha! with the fact that she was a ghost at the ceremony because she watched the live broadcast.
Doctors do not know how to deal with Hlaváčová’s disease. Parkinson’s or Alzheimer’s disease has been mentioned several times, but none of them allegedly suffers from any of them. Her health problems are said to be unnamed. Hlaváčová calls herself lager.
One of her last television roles was in a series Perfect world, portrayed the well – known editor of the fashion magazine Alžběta.
