“Miss Lyon the beginning of my story…”

On December 8, 2001 under the scarf of Miss Lyon, Sylvie Tellier obtained the crown of Miss France. An event that forever changed the fate of the one who is today the general manager of the Société Miss France and who keeps for Lyon a very special place in her heart.

LyonMag : You are celebrating your 20th anniversary this year as Miss Lyon and Miss France, what is your state of mind? A little nostalgia?

Sylvie Tellier : It’s a fairly mixed feeling. There is nostalgia because all of a sudden when I look back, I tell myself that twenty years have already passed. I have the impression of not having seen them slip away! There is also a very festive side because I love birthdays. I am very happy because this will be the opportunity to bring together my entire class on December 8 to celebrate this wonderful anniversary.

LM : Do you have the opportunity to come back to Lyon often?

ST : Extremely often! I kept a lot of Lyon friends, especially Sidonie, the godmother of my eldest son. I have a friend that I adore called Nicolas Fafiotte (famous couturier note). I come back to Lyon at least every two months.

LM : Do you have places that are close to your heart in Lyon?

ST : I don’t come back to Lyon without passing Place Bellecour or going for a bit of shopping in rue Edouard Herriot. I also come to eat in Lyon. I am very Peninsula in all honesty.

LM : Have the Miss changed in 20 years?

ST : I don’t feel completely different from today’s candidates. Obviously, social networks have changed the situation a lot. Today’s candidates are so much more comfortable speaking. It seems to me that at 22 years old I had a taste for travel, ambition and the desire to promote my region. They also have that. The girls haven’t changed that much. It is the look on the Misses and on women that has changed. People who follow Miss France have fully integrated the fact that we can experience Miss France as a year of gap.

LM : Today you are the general manager of the Société Miss France, at the head of the Talent Lab company, co-founder of the association “Les Bonnes Fées”. You also write books for children. Do you still have other projects in this already full CV?

ST : If I could have three lives (laughs)… I feel alive having plans. I have three children and I consider that we have a responsibility towards them. I try to be present with them as much as possible. But I still have 1000 projects! After that, I already have a busy daily life so I will wait until my children grow up a bit. Anyway I say thank you to life every morning because I always wake up with this desire to do lots of things.

LM : It has been 20 years since a Miss Rhône-Alpes was elected. We are impatiently awaiting a Miss France in the region. What are our representatives missing each year?

ST : Maybe the Lyonnais were waiting for my birthday to give me this beautiful gift this year. We can just call on all the Rhônalpins to support their Miss. This year, she has many qualities. My heart is in Lyon. If the Rhônalpins could really mobilize themselves so that she could go as far as possible in the adventure, it would be great to come home with the crown. Lyon is a magnificent setting for organizing Miss France!
